What it is for
A limited kit of parts forces every decision, and watching somebody solve a shape with the wrong pieces is most of the pleasure. The steps in a curve are the visible record of that constraint.
How it works
Everything is assembled from real brick shapes. Studs show on every upward face. Diagonals are built as steps. The plastic is glossy and injection moulded, so it carries small sprue marks and scuffs. The palette is small because the parts only come in so many colours.
When to use it
Use it for play, nostalgia and anything that should look assembled from a kit. Avoid it where a form needs to be elegant, because a brick cannot make a smooth line.
Told apart from its neighbours
Voxel is the same stepped logic in a renderer, with no studs and no gloss. Plastic Toy is moulded as one piece. Papercraft Render fakes a similar faceting in folded paper.

What goes wrong

Watch for
Ask for stepped diagonals. Every curve in the picture has to be built from square steps, and a model that smooths them turns a brick model into a plastic toy.
