What it is for
Turning a character into a soft object changes what it is for: it stops being looked at and starts being held. Every change the format forces, thicker limbs, rounder forms, a simpler face, pushes the design towards something comforting.
How it works
Flat fabric panels are sewn together and stuffed, so a seam runs wherever two panels meet and every form bulges. Features are embroidered with visible thread. Limbs are shortened and thickened so they can hold stuffing. A fabric tag sits in one seam.
When to use it
Use it for merchandise, gifting and any character meant to be loved. Avoid it where detail matters, because sewing cannot hold a fine feature.

What goes wrong

Watch for
Embroider the face. Printed eyes are the giveaway of a cheap render, and visible thread in the features is the single detail that makes the whole thing read as sewn.
