What it is for
The style draws feeling rather than place. Replacing a room with flowers and light says that what is happening inside the character matters more than where they are standing, and a reader accepts it instantly.
How it works
A fine pen line, held at one weight. Eyes drawn very large with several separate white highlights inside them. Hair drawn as individual strands. Tone built with screentone gradients rather than with ink. Panel borders often open, so the drawing spills into the page.
When to use it
Use it for romance, interiority and anything that trades on emotion. Avoid it for action, because a fine even line carries no force.
Told apart from its neighbours
Shonen Ink brushes its line and fills its shadows solid. Big Eye is the proportion alone, without the ink tradition around it. Screentone is the tool this style leans on hardest.
Where it is used
It suits a cover, a sticker sheet, an avatar and any illustration whose subject is a feeling rather than an event.

What goes wrong
A generic large eyed character in a real room comes back. The fix is the background clause: flowers, radiating light, no setting.

The background is the tell. Ask for flowers and radiating light in place of a setting, because a model will draw a real room and the page immediately reads as a different tradition.
